소말리아에서 아프리카연합, AU 대변인은 모가디슈에서 박격포 공격으로 AU 평화 유지군 임무에 참여하고 있는 우간다 병사 한 명이 숨지고 5명이 다쳤다고 전했습니다.
숨진 병사는 1일 박격포 공격이 발생할 당시 소말리아 대통령 궁을 경호 중에 있었습니다. 지난 달 AU 평화유지군이 도착한 이후 AU 평화유지군 소속 병사가 사망하기는 이번이 처음입니다.
한편 모가디슈에서 막강한 하위예 부족 대변인은 지난 3월 29일에 시작된 저항분자들과 에티오피아, 소말리아 정부군이 개입된 치열한 전투를 종식시키 위해 1일 새로운 정전을 중재했다고 전했습니다.
목격자들은 최근 전투가 발생한 이후 민간인들이 가장 어려움을 당하고 있다고 전했습니다. 모가디슈내 수천명의 주민들은 다른 지역에 대피중에 있습니다.

An African Union spokesman in Somalia says a mortar bomb attack in Mogadishu has killed a Ugandan soldier taking part in an A.U. peacekeeping mission and wounded five others.
The soldier was guarding the presidential palace today (Sunday) when he was killed in the bombing. He is the first A.U. peacekeeper to die in Somalia since the force arrived last month.
The A.U. soldiers were deployed to relieve Ethiopian troops that helped Somali soldiers push an Islamist movement from power in Mogadishu last December.
A spokesman for the powerful Hawiye clan in Mogadishu says it brokered a new ceasefire today (Sunday) to put an end to heavy fighting involving insurgents, Ethiopian and Somali troops that began Thursday.
