일본 대법원이 오늘(13일) 2차세계 대전 후 일본군이 버리고 간 화학무기때문에 상해를 입었다며 중국인 피해자 5명이 일본 정부를 상대로 제기한 소송을 기각했습니다.
대법원은 이날 앞서 소송을 기각한 하급 법원의 판결을 유지했습니다. 중국인들은 부상과 건강 문제로 고통을 입었다며 일본 정부에 68만 달러의 보상을 요구했습니다.
일반군은 1945년 2차 세계대전 패전 뒤 중국에 수 십만개의 화학무기를 남겨놓고 퇴각했습니다.
일본은 지난 10년 가까이 화학무기의 회수 작업을 지원하고 있으나 중국정부는 회수 과정이 너무 느리며 화학품으로 인한 사고로 수 천명의 주민이 다치거나 숨졌다고 말하고 있습니다.

The Tokyo High Court has rejected a lawsuit by five Chinese citizens who say they were injured by chemical weapons abandoned by Japanese troops at the end of World War Two.
The court upheld a lower court ruling that had dismissed the suit.
The Chinese were seeking about 680-thousand dollars from the Japanese government for injuries and health problems they say they suffered.
Japan's military left behind hundreds of thousands of chemical weapons after its occupation of China ended in 1945.
Japan has been helping to recover the weapons for nearly a decade, but China's government says the process is too slow and that thousands of people have been injured or killed in accidents involving the chemicals.
