미국과 일본, 호주는 지난주 인공위성 요격용 탄도 미사일 시험 발사에 성공한 중국의 움직임에 대해 우려를 보내고 있습니다.
백악과 국가안보회의(NSC)의 고든 존드로 대변인은 미국은 중국의 인공위성 요격용 미사일 개발과 시험발사가 양국이 추구하는 우주 협력 정신에 부합하지 않는 것으로 믿고 있다고 말했습니다.
일본의 시오자키 야스히사 관방장관은 일본은 인공위성을 탄도 미사일로 요격하는 모든 행위에 대해 우려하고 있다며 중국에 미시일 시험 발사에 대한 완전한 설명을 요구했습니다. 호주 역시 중국 정부의 해명 요구를 모색하고 있습니다.
중국의 인공위성 요격용 미시일 시험발사는 ‘에이비에이션 위크-우주 기술’지가 처음으로 보도했으며 미국의 정보 당국은 중국이 지난 11일 시험 발사를 실시한 것으로 추정하고 있습니다.
중국은 이번 시험 발사에 대해 확인하지 않고 있으나 일본 외무성은 중국 정부로 부터 이번 시험 발사로 평화적 목적으로 실시됐다는 메시지를 받았다고 말했습니다.

The United States, Japan and Australia are voicing concerns to China about reports that Beijing successfully tested a new anti-satellite weapon last week.
A U.S. National Security Council spokesman (, Gordon Johndroe,) says Washington believes China's development and testing of such weapons is inconsistent with the spirit of cooperation in the field of space.
In Japan, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yasuhiso Shiozaki says Tokyo is concerned about any act of destroying an artificial satellite with a ballistic missile, and has demanded a full explanation from Beijing. Australia is also seeking an explanation from the Chinese government.
Reports of the Chinese test first appeared in the publication "Aviation Week and Space Technology" and U.S. intelligence agencies believe it happened January 11th.
China has not confirmed the test, but Japan's Foreign Ministry says it received a message from Beijing that its intentions were peaceful.
