새로 과도정부 수반으로 취임한 파크루딘 아메드 씨는 새 정부가 선출될 때까지 자신을 도와 국정을 운영할 고문 5명을 임명했습니다.
이아주딘 아메드 전 과도정부 대통령은 지난 11일 야당이 오는 22일로 예정된 총선에 불참하겠다고 선언한데 따라 비상사태를 선포하고 총선을 취소한 바 있습니다.
아메드 전 대통령은 아와미 연맹의 주도아래 야당 연합이 벌이고 있는 파업과 폭력 시위 사태를 종식시키기 위해 과도정부 대통령 자리에서 물러났습니다.
이에 따라 경제 전문가인 파크루딘 아메드 씨가 다음 총선을 관장할 새 과도정부 지도자로 취임했습니다. 새 총선날짜는 아직 정해지지 않았습니다.

Bangladesh's new caretaker government met for the first time today (Sunday) to begin setting up new elections.
New interim government chief Fakhruddin Ahmed held the meeting one day after he selected five advisors to help him run the nation until a new government is elected.
His predecessor, President Iajuddin Ahmed, declared a state of emergency Thursday and canceled elections slated for the 22nd (of this month) after the opposition said it would boycott the polls.
President Ahmed then stepped down as head of an interim government to put an end to crippling strikes and violent protests by the multi-party opposition, led by the Awami League.
A day later, he swore in economist Fakhruddin Ahmed as the country's caretaker chief, mandated to oversee the next general election.
No new date has been set for the elections.
