인도의 분쟁지역인 아쌈 주에서 분리주의 반군들이 야간 공격을 벌여 적어도 42명을 살해했다고 인도 당국이 6일 밝혔습니다.
관계관들은 이날 새벽 미명에 벌어진 이번 공격에서 반군들이 13명의 이주노동자들의 손을 끈으로 묶고 사살했다고 밝혔습니다.
동부 틴수키아지역에서 일어난 이번 공격은 별도의 유사한 공격 가운데 가장 최근의 것이라고 경찰은 말했습니다.
이번 공격이 자신들의 소행이라고 주장하는 단체는 아직 나타나지 않고 있습니다. 그러나 당국은 이번 공격이 불법화된 아쌈연합해방전선의 소행이라고 비난했습니다.
이와 별도의 사건으로, 아쌈지역의 카르비 앙글롱에서 지뢰 폭발로 5명의 경찰관을 포함해 모두 7명의 관리들이 사망했다고 경찰이 말했습니다.

Indian authorities say that suspected separatist rebels have killed at least 42 people in a string of overnight attacks in India's troubled northeastern state of Assam.
Officials say rebels fatally shot 13 migrant workers in a pre-dawn raid today (Saturday). They say the attack in eastern Tinsukia district is the latest of nine separate, similar attacks.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks. But authorities blame the outlawed United Liberation Front of Asom. The front has been fighting for an independent Assamese homeland since 1979.
In a separate incident today (Saturday), police say a land mine explosion killed seven officials, including five policemen. They say the blast hit a government vehicle in the Karbi Anglong district of Assam.
Police did not immediately say who they suspect is responsible for the attack.
