시아파의 성지인 나자프 인근 쿠파 시에서 차량폭탄이 터져 31명이 사망하고, 적어도 58명이 부상했다고 이라크 관계관들이 말했습니다. 이 일련의 폭탄공격이 사담 후세인의 처형과 관련이 있는지는 분명하지 않습니다.
한편, 미군은 이날 6명의 미군이 사망했다고 발표함으로써 지난 2년 사이에 12월을 미군이 최악의 사망자를 낸 달로 만들어주고 있습니다.

Car bomb blasts across Iraq have killed more than 70 people, just hours after former dictator Saddam Hussein was executed for crimes against humanity.
Security officials in Baghdad say three coordinated bomb attacks in a mixed Shi'ite and Sunni area of the city (Hurriya) today (Saturday) killed at least 25 people and wounded more than 65 others. Other blasts killed several more people in the Iraqi capital.
In Kufa, a Shi'ite holy city near Najaf, Iraqi officials say a car bomb in a crowded market killed 31 people and wounded at least 58 others.
It is not clear whether the attacks were related to the execution of Saddam.
Also today, U.S military officials announced the deaths of six American service members, making December the deadliest month for U.S. forces in two years. Nearly three thousand U.S. military personnel have been killed in Iraq since the U.S.-led invasion began in 2003.
