에티오피아와 소말리아 정부군이 상쟁 세력인 이슬람 반군으로부터 남부 요화르 마을의 통제권을 탈환했다고, 소말리아의 목격자들이 전했습니다.
주민들은 군인들이 주민들의 환호 속에 27일 수도 모가디슈 북쪽에 위치한 이 마을에 진입해 말했습니다. 반군은 지난 6월 이후 이 마을을 장악하고 있었습니다.
소말리아 정부 대변인은 에티오피아와 정부 군이 지금 모가디슈에서 30킬로미터 떨어진 발라드 마을로 진격하고 있다고 말했습니다.
이슬람 반군의 한 관계자는 지난 26일 기자들에게, 반군이 전술적인 후퇴를 하고 있다고 주장했습니다.
이보다 앞서 지난 26일 , 친 정부군은 이슬람 반군들이 철수한 후 소말리아 중부에서 적어도 4개 마을을 장악했습니다.
소말리아에서는 이슬람 반군들이 소말리아 중부와 남부 대부분 지역을 장악한 후 몇 개월 동안 긴장이 고조되다가 지난 19일 전투가 발발했습니다.

Witnesses in Somalia say Ethiopian and Somali government troops have seized the southern town of Jowhar from rival Islamist forces.
Residents say the troops were greeted with cheers today (Wednesday) as they entered the town, located 90 kilometers north of the capital, Mogadishu. The Islamists had controlled the town since June.
A Somali government spokesman (Abdirahman Dinari) said Ethiopian and government troops are now advancing on Balad, a town just 30 kilometers from Mogadishu.
A top Islamist official (Sheik Sharif Sheikh Ahmed) insisted to reporters Tuesday that his fighters are making a tactical retreat.
Earlier Tuesday, pro-government forces took control of several towns in central Somalia after Islamist fighters withdrew.
The fighting in Somalia broke out December 19th, after months of rising tension as the Islamists took over much of the country's center and south.
