아랍 텔레비전방송인 알-자리라 방송은 이날 아이만 알-자와히리의 최신 모습이 담긴 비디오 테이프를 방영했습니다.
자와히리는 미국은 이라크의 폭력을 종식시키기 위해 잘못된 정파들과 협상을 벌이고 있다고 주장하며, 미국 정부는 회교세계의 실질적인 세력과 협상해야 할 것이라고 말했습니다. 자와히리가 말하는 실질적인 세력은 알-카에다를 지칭하는 것으로 보입니다.
자와히리는 파타당과 하마스간의 정치적 교착상태의 종식을 의미하는 팔레스타인의 새로운 선거 실시계획을 강하게 비난했습니다.
자와히리는 세속적인 헌법에 기초한 선거가 팔레스타인 땅을 해방시켜주지 못할 것이라며, 이것을 달성할 수 있는 길은 오직 지하드 , 성전을 통해서만 가능하다고 말했습니다.

The deputy leader of al-Qaida has vowed to continue attacks against the United States as long as the group feels Muslim countries are under attack from the U.S.
The Arab channel al-Jazeera today (Wednesday) aired excerpts of the latest video of Ayman al-Zawahiri.
Zawahiri also said the U.S. is negotiating with the wrong parties in Iraq to end the violence there, saying Washington will be forced to deal with the real forces in the Islamic world. He was apparently referring to al-Qaida.
Zawahiri slammed plans for new elections in the Palestinian territories that are meant to end the political stalemate between the Fatah and Hamas factions.
He said elections based on a secular constitution will not liberate Palestinian land. The only way to do that, he said, is through jihad.
