부시 대통령은 이라크 정책 전환을 발표하기에 앞서 여러 경로의 권고안들을 검토할 것이라고 말했습니다.

A senior White House official says President Bush may make an announcement on his Iraq policy in early 2007, rather than before Christmas.
White House spokesman Tony Snow later confirmed that a speech on a new Iraq strategy is more likely to come in January.
The comments today (Tuesday) came as Mr. Bush holds the second of three days of consultations he scheduled this week on Iraq.
Earlier, the president conferred by videoconference with U.S. military commanders in Iraq and the U.S. ambassador there. He also is meeting today at the White House with Iraq's Sunni Arab vice president, Tariq al-Hashimi.
Mr. Bush has said he will consider recommendations from various sources before announcing any policy change. He will hold consultations Wednesday at the U.S. Defense Department.
Last week, Mr. Bush got recommendations on Iraq from the bipartisan Iraq Study Group. The proposals include engaging Iran and Syria, and withdrawing most U.S. combat troops from Iraq by early 2008.
