European powers have circulated a new U.N. draft resolution that eases sanctions on Iran for its controversial nuclear program.
Britain, France and Germany circulated the draft on Friday to U.N. Security Council members.
News reports say the draft resolution still bars trade with Iran on goods that may contribute to its nuclear and missile programs. But the reports say the draft drops all references to a nuclear facility that Russia is helping to build in Bushehr in southwest Iran.
Russia and China have been reluctant to pursue tough sanctions against Iran.
Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice says the only way she would hold talks with Iran about Iraq is if Tehran stops enriching uranium and returns to discussions on its nuclear program.
