Iraqi security officials say about 30 people have been killed and many others wounded in car bomb blasts and an attack on a bus in Baghdad.
Officials said at least 14 people were killed when gunmen attacked a bus of workers in northern Baghdad today (Tuesday). The victims were employees of the Shi'ite Endowment - the government agency that takes care of the country's Shi'ite mosques and shrines.
A top Sunni Endowment official and three of his bodyguards were killed last week in an ambush attack in the southern city of Basra.
In other violence, today police say at least 15 people were killed and 25 wounded in three car bomb explosions near a gas station in a mixed neighborhood (Bayaa) of Baghdad.
Separately, the U.S. military says one American soldier died and five others were wounded when insurgents attacked a U.S. troop patrol Monday in the Iraqi capital.
