유엔 안전보장이사회 다섯개 상임이사국과 독일 등 6개국 대표들이 5일 프랑스 파리에서 만나 이란 핵 계획과 관련해 유엔 제재결의안 채택문제를 논의할 것이라고 프랑스가 밝혔습니다.
이번 회담에는 유럽연합 대표도 참석할 예정입니다. 이들 주요 강대국 대표들은 몇주동안 이란에 제재조치를 취할 것인지 여부를 논의해 왔습니다.
프랑스와 독일, 영국은 유엔 안전보장이사회에서 대 이란 제재 결의안 초안을 회람시켰습니다.
그러나 러시아와 중국은 제재 강도를 낮추길 바라고 있습니다. 이란은 평화적 목적으로 핵 기술을 개발할 권리가 있다며 유엔이 지난 8월 31일로 정해놓았던 우라늄 농축 중지시한을 무시했습니다.

France has announced that six major powers will meet on Tuesday to discuss possible sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program.
France's foreign ministry spokesman (Jean-Baptiste Mattei) said senior diplomats from the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council plus Germany will meet in Paris. A European Union representative is expected to join the talks.
The major powers have been working for weeks on possible sanctions against Iran.
France, Germany and Britain have circulated a draft Security Council sanctions resolution. But Russia and China favor less stringent sanctions.
Iran defied an August 31st U.N. deadline for suspending its nuclear enrichment program. Tehran says it has a right to develop nuclear technology for peaceful uses.
