중국은 최근 한반도에서 발생한 조류독감이 중국 본토로 전파되지 않을까 우려해 중국내 여섯개 성에서 한국산 닭고기 수입을 금지시켰습니다.
중국 농무부는 29일 조류독감 전파를 막기 위해 한국에 가깝거나 철새들의 이주 경로에 있는 중국내 여섯개 성에 대해 한국산 닭고기 수입을 금지하도록 지시했습니다.
중국 농무부는 또한 헤이롱쟝 성과 질린 성, 샨둥 성 등 이들 여섯개 성에 대해 국경 지역에서 닭고기 수입에 대한 통제를 강화해야 한다고 말했습니다.
한국은 28일 서남부 익산시의 닭 농장에서 조류독감 바이러스인 H5N1이 발견됐음을 확인했습니다.
익산 시는 지난 25일 조류독감 바이러스가 확인된 곳에서 불과 3 킬로미터 떨어져있는 곳입니다.
한국에서 조류독감 사례가 확인된 것은 지난 2003년 이래 처음입니다.

China is banning imports of South Korean poultry products in six provinces to prevent an outbreak of bird flu on the Korean peninsula from spreading into the mainland.
China's Agriculture Ministry said today (Wednesday) that it was ordering provinces close to South Korea and along avian migratory routes to step up surveillance for possible bird flu outbreaks. (Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Jiangsu, Shandong and Zhejiang provinces) It said the provinces should also strengthen control over the transport of poultry products in border areas.
On Tuesday, South Korea confirmed an outbreak of the H5N1 bird flu strain on a poultry farm near the southwestern city of Iksan. That outbreak is just three kilometers from where an H5N1 outbreak was confirmed on Saturday.
These are the first known outbreaks of bird flu in South Korea since 2003.
