필리핀 경찰은 글로리아 아로요 대통령 암살을 음모한 혐의로 전국회의원이자 군 장성 한명을 체포했습니다.
경찰 당국은15일 오전 마닐라 근교 쿠에존 시에서 기습 작전을 펼쳐 레고리오 그링고 호나산 씨를 체포했다고 말했습니다.
경찰은 호나산씨가 도망치려고 했으며 달리는 자동차에서 뛰어내리면서 다리에 부상을 당했다고 밝혔습니다. 호나산씨는 현재 마닐라 경찰 본부에서 의사들의치료를 받고 있습니다.
올해 58세의 전역 장군인 호나산씨는 지난 2월 당국이 아로요 대통령 암살 음모사건에 호나산씨가 연루되어있다는 의혹을 제기한 이래 은신해왔습니다.

Philippine police have arrested a former senator and army colonel accused of masterminding a coup plot against President Gloria Arroyo.
Police captured Gregorio "Gringo" Honasan early this (Wednesday) morning during a raid in the Manila suburb of Quezon City.
They say Honasan tried to escape and injured his leg while jumping from a moving vehicle. He was treated by doctors at Manila's police headquarters.
The 58-year old retired officer had been in hiding since February, when authorities charged him with leading a plot to topple Mrs. Arroyo. Officials say police found him after tracking his mobile phone calls for several weeks.
Authorities have accused Honasan of involvement in almost every coup plot in the Philippines in the past 20 years. He also faces rebellion charges in connection with a failed coup against Ms. Arroyo by junior officers in 2003.
