프롱크 특사는 이 달 초 웹사이트에 수단군의 패배 사실과 함께 다르푸르 지역 수단군이 도덕적으로 타락해있다고 밝힌 바 있습니다. 수단 정부는 이에 따라 프롱크 특사를 철수시킬 것을 유엔에 요청했습니다.
한편 유엔 대변인은 24일 프롱크의 특사 자격에는 변화가 없다는 입장을 밝혔습니다.

The United Nations envoy expelled from Sudan says he did not reveal any secrets when he said Sudan's army had lost two major battles to rebels in Darfur.
Jan Pronk told a Netherlands radio station today (Tuesday) that the information had been published in Sudanese newspapers, and that he merely repeated it.
Pronk wrote about the losses on his personal website earlier this month, and said Sudan's army in the Darfur region was demoralized.
Sudan's government reacted by ordering him to leave the country and asking the United Nations to withdraw him as its envoy.
A U.N. spokesman (Stephane Dujarric) told reporters today that Pronk's status remains unchanged. Pronk is on his way to New York for a meeting with U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan.
