모하마드 알리 호세이니 이란 외무부 대변인은 22일 유엔의 제재는 어떤 것이든 지역 및 국제사회에 영향을 미칠 것이라며 이같이 밝혔습니다. 호세이니 대변인은 유엔의 제재에 맞서 이란이 어떤 행동을 취할지에 대해서는 구체적으로 언급하지 않은 채 `적절한 조처를 취할 것’이라고만 말했습니다.
호세이니 대변인은 또 이란은 여전히 협상읕 통해 핵 문제를 해결하기 원한다고 말했습니다. 그는 그러나 협상 이전에 이란이 우라늄 농축을 중단하라는 서방국들의 요구를 거듭 거부했습니다.

Iran says it will retaliate against any U.N. sanctions on its nuclear program.
Iran Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini said today (Sunday) in Tehran any U.N. sanctions will have regional and international repercussions.
He did not elaborate on actions Tehran might take in response to sanctions. But he said the government would take what he called "appropriate measures."
Hosseini's comments come days before a draft resolution is expected to be submitted to the U.N. Security Council calling for limited sanctions against Tehran.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman says Iran still wants to negotiate a settlement of the issue. But he reaffirmed Tehran's rejection of Western calls for the Islamic republic to halt uranium enrichment before negotiations can take place.
