현재 앰네스티 인터내셔널을 포함한 수십개 비정부 단체들의 러시아 내 활동이 중단돼있습니다.
한편 러시아의 이타르타스 통신은 20일 러시아 정부가 113개 비정부단체를 허가했으며, 현대 나머지 77개 단체의 등록 업무를 진행하고 있다고 발표했습니다. 러시아는 새 법이 4월에 통과됐지만, 그 동안 이들 단체들 스스로 등록 준비가 늦었다는 입장입니다.

A spokesman (Tony Snow) said today (Friday) the United States is committed to civil society.
Dozens of non-governmental organizations, or NGOs including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, have had to stop working in Russia while authorities process their registration papers under a tough new law.
Russia's official news agency, Itar-Tass, said today the government has approved 113 NGOs, which suggests another 77 are awaiting permission to resume their work.
Russian officials have accused the NGOs of filing registration papers late, even though the law passed in April.
