이스라엘 군대가 18일 가자지구 남부 라파 지역에 침투해 최소한 두 명의 팔레스타인인들을 총격살해했다고 팔레스타인 당국이 밝혔습니다.
주민들은 숨진 팔레스타인인 두 명이 팔레스타인 자치정부의 집권당인 ‘하마스’ 의 군사조직 소속이라고 말했습니다.
주민들의 증언에 따르면 18일 새벽 동이 트기 이전에 대규모 이스라엘 군대가 탱크를 앞세우고 라파 지역에 들어왔으며 가자지구와 이집트간 경계선을 따라 병사들이 배치됐습니다.
라파 국경 검문소는 가자지구 주민들이 이스라엘을 거치지않고 외부로 나갈 수 있는 유일한 통로입니다.
이스라엘은 지난 6월말 팔레스타인 과격분자들이 이스라엘 병사 한 명을 납치한 이후 가자지구에서 군사작전을 계속하고 있습니다.

Palestinians say at least two Palestinian men were shot and killed by Israeli troops who moved into the Rafah area of the southern Gaza Strip today (Wednesday).
Residents identified the two as militants from the armed wing of the governing Palestinian faction Hamas.
They say a large number of Israeli soldiers backed by tanks entered Rafah before dawn and took up positions along the Gaza-Egypt border.
The Rafah border crossing is Gaza's only access to the outside world without passing through Israel.
Israel has been continuing a military offensive in Gaza since Palestinian militants abducted an Israeli soldier in late June.
On Tuesday, Israel said its forces had discovered a tunnel that Palestinians were using to smuggle weapons into Gaza from Egypt.
