션 맥코맥 미 국무부 대변인은 13일 라이스 장관이 17일부터 22일 사이에 토쿄와 서울, 베이징을 순방할 것이라고 말했습니다.
맥코맥 대변인은 이번 순방을 통해 라이스 장관이 지역 지도자들과 만나고, 앞으로 예상되는 유엔 안보리 대북 제재결의안을 어떻게 이행할 것인지 논의할 것이라고 말했습니다.
한편, 라이스 장관이 북한을 방문할 징후는 없습니다.

The U.S. State Department says Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will travel to China, South Korea and Japan next week to discuss North Korea's claimed nuclear test.
State Department spokesman Sean McCormack told reporters today (Friday) that Secretary Rice will travel to Tokyo, Seoul and Beijing between October 17th and 22nd.
He says the trip will give the secretary a chance meet with regional leaders and discuss implementation of an expected U.N. resolution on North Korea.
McCormack says the visits will also allow Rice to have a wider conversation about the current situation and about nuclear proliferation in general.
There was no indication the secretary had plans to visit North Korea.
