압바스 수반의 한 보좌관은 24일, 팔레스타인 지도자 압바스 수반이 하마스 지도자들과 논의를 계속하기 위해 25일이나 26일, 가자지구를 방문할 것이라고 말했습니다.
압바스 수반은 23일, 하마스와의 거국 정부 구성 노력은 실패했다고 밝히고 다시 시작되어야 할 것이라고 말했습니다.
하마스와 압바스 수반의 파타 당은 이달 초 연립 정부 구성에 합의했었습니다. 그 같은 합의는 이스라엘에 대한 묵시적 인정을 촉구한 것으로 널리 보도되어 왔습니다.
그러나 하마스 지도자들은 지난 주, 이스라엘을 인정할 거국 정부에는 참여하지 않을 것이라고 말했습니다.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is expected to meet with leaders of the militant group, Hamas, later this week to revive stalled national unity government talks.
An aide to Mr. Abbas said today (Sunday) the Palestinian leader will go to the Gaza Strip on Monday or Tuesday to continue discussions.
Mr. Abbas said Saturday efforts to form a national unity government with Hamas have failed, and would have to be restarted.
Hamas and Mr. Abbas' Fatah party agreed to a form a coalition government in discussions earlier this month. It was widely reported the agreement called for an implicit recognition of Israel.
However, Hamas leaders last week said they would not join a unity government that recognizes Israel.
