카르자이 대통령은 미국CNN 케이블 텔레비전 방송과의 인터뷰에서 이같이 확신한다고 밝히고 파키스탄 국경안에 있는 테러리스트 은신처들을 제압하기 위해 페르베스 무샤라프 파키스탄 대통령과의 협력을 추구하고 있다고 말했습니다.
두 나라 대통령들은 이번 주에, 워싱턴에서 죠지 부쉬 대통령과 만날 예정입니다.
한편, 아프가니스탄 남부 지역에서 최근 아프가니스탄군과 북대서양조약기구, 나토군이 합동으로 전개한 저항분자 소탕작전에서 60여 명의 저항분자들이 살해됐다고 아프가니스탄 국방부와 나토가 밝혔습니다.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai says he is confident neighboring Pakistan can do more in its efforts to fight terrorism and bring peace to the region.
Mr. Karzai, interviewed on CNN (Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer), said he is seeking cooperation from Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf to curb what he said are terrorist sanctuaries within Pakistan's borders.
The two leaders are scheduled to meet with President Bush this week in Washington.
Meanwhile, the NATO alliance and the Afghan Defense Ministry report killing more than 60 insurgents during the latest fighting in southern Afghanistan.
