이스라엘 정부가 지상전을 확대하지 않는 대신 헤즈볼라 무장세력에 대한 공습과 박격포 공격을 강화하기로 결정한 가운데 이스라엘 전투기들이 28일 레바논 남부와 동부 지역 1백여 목표물에 공습을 가했습니다.
레바논 관리들은 이스라엘 전투기들이 헤즈볼라의 전략지역 가까이에 있는 나바티예와 아르눈 마을 부근의 목표물들을 공습했다고 말했습니다. 이로 인해 최소한 6명의 레반논 주민이 사망했습니다. 이스라엘은 장거리 로켓 보관소로 지목된 시리아 부근 베카 계곡의 헤즈볼라 기지도 공격했습니다.
이와 관련해 레바논 보건장관은 이달 초 전투가 시작된 이래 레바논인 6백명 가량이 사망했으며 이들은 대부분 민간인이라고 밝혔습니다. 이스라엘은 이달 초 이래 2백명의 헤즈볼라 전사를 살해했다고 말했습니다. 한편 에후드 올메르트 총리가 주재한 이스라엘 안보각료 회의는 27일 육군의 3만명의 예비군 동원 계획을 승인했습니다.

Israeli warplanes have pounded more than 100 targets in southern and eastern Lebanon, as the Israeli military focuses on air strikes over riskier ground operations on the 17th day of its offensive against Hezbollah.
Lebanese and Israeli officials say Israeli aircraft fired today (Friday) at targets near the southern Lebanese towns of Nabatiyeh and Arnoun, close to the strategic Beaufort crusader castle with its commanding view of the border area. Israeli strikes killed at least six people.
Israel also hit a Hezbollah base in the Bekaa valley near Syria where it says long range rockets were stored.
Lebanon's health minister (Muhammed Jawad Khalifeh) says up to 600 Lebanese -- almost all civilians -- are believed killed since the fighting began earlier this month.
Israel says it has killed 200 Hezbollah fighters since early July.
More than 50 Israelis -- mostly soldiers -- have been killed in cross-border fighting and Hezbollah rocket attacks on northern Israel.
