모험과 전율을 즐기는 수천명의 외국인들이 7일부터 시작된 스페인의 산 페르민 축제의 대명사인 황소몰이 행사에 참가하기 위해 팜플로나에 모여들었습니다.
미국 뉴욕주 출신의 31세의 한 남성은 이날 팜플로나의 투우장에서부터 이 도시의 협소한 돌 골목길을 통해 달리는 황소들을 피하다가 반신불수가 됐습니다. 6명의 다른 참가자들 역시 소에 받히거나 피하려다 부상했으나 생명에는 지장이 없는 것으로 알려졌습니다.
수 백년의 역사를 가진 산 페르민 축제는 미국의 저명한 작가 어네스트 훼밍웨이의 소설 <태양은 다시 떠오른다> 를 통해 유명해졌습니다. 많은 여행객들이 매년 자신들의 용기를 시험하기 위해 이 소몰이 행사에 참여하고 있으며 1924년 이후 적어도 13명이 행사도중 사고로 사망했습니다.

A 31-year-old American man from New York state (in the eastern United States) was paralyzed while dodging young bulls in Pamplona's bull ring following the run through the town's narrow cobblestone streets.
Six other people suffered non life-threatening injuries during the run, including a New Zealander gored in the thigh.
The centuries-old San Fermin festival was immortalized in American writer Ernest Hemingway's novel, "The Sun Also Rises." Tourists flock to Pamplona each year to test their courage, which most boost with all-night drinking binges.
At least 13 people have been killed during the bull run since 1924.
