Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon was rushed to a hospital in Jerusalem Sunday evening after taking ill at his office.
Israeli television reports quote medics who say Mr. Sharon briefly lost consciousness before arriving at Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital. The 77-year-old leader was later reported in stable condition.
The Associated Press quotes a hospital spokesman as saying Mr. Sharon was fully conscious at the facility.
Aides to the prime minister said he was undergoing tests to determine whether he had suffered a minor stroke.
