청와대 대변인은 노무현 대통령이 30일 여당인 열린 우리당 국회의원들과 함께 한 자리에서, 조기 퇴진하고 한국의 정치적 폐단인 지역 주의를 타파하기 위해 새로운 연정을 구성할 수도 있다고 말했습니다.
노무현 대통령은 전에도 이와 유사한 제의를 했었지만 연정의 상대가 될 야당들에의해 거부됐었습니다.
노무현 대통령은 5년간의 임기가 끝나는 2008년에 퇴임합니다.

South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun says he is willing to step down early if it will help create a "new political culture" in Seoul. A presidential spokesman says Mr. Roh told members of his ruling Uri Party on Tuesday he might quit and form a new coalition government in order to end the regionalism that has hampered South Korean politics for decades.
Mr. Roh has made similar offers before, but they have been rejected by the opposition leaders who would be his coalition partners. Mr. Roh is scheduled to leave office in 2008 after a single five-year term.
He was elected on promises to reform South Korea's political system, but his presidency was marred by an unsuccessful impeachment attempt last year .
