한편, 당국자들은 15일 바그다드 동부에서 처형식으로 총살당한 것으로 보이는 적어도 13구의 시신이 발견됐다고 밝혔습니다. 또 바그다드에서, 저항 분자들이 차를 타고 일터로 가고 있던 두 명의 공무원들에게 총격을 가해 살해했다고 이라크 관계관들이 말했습니다.
이에 앞서14일엔 저항 세력의 북부 거점인 바쿠바에서 폭탄들이 터져 적어도 4명이 살해되고 20명이 부상했습니다. 경찰은 거의 연속적으로 벌어진 이 두차례 폭탄 공격은 디얄라 주 지사를 겨냥한 것이었던 것으로 보인다고 말했습니다. 주지사는 무사했습니다.

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice has made a surprise visit to Iraq for talks with U.S. and Iraqi authorities trying to quell an insurgency that has claimed 400 lives so far this month.
Ms. Rice arrived under tight security early today (Sunday) in northern Iraq, where she met with Kurdish leader Massoud Barzani. She then flew to Baghdad, for meetings with government leaders and U.S. commanders.
Meanwhile, authorities say the bound bodies of 13 people shot execution-style have been found in Baghdad. Eleven others killed in a similar fashion were found near Latifiyah. Separately, gunmen shot and killed two government workers as they drove to work in Baghdad.
To the north, police say at least four people were killed and 20 others wounded in bomb blasts in Baquba, The attacks were apparently aimed at a provincial governor, who escaped unharmed.
