Pet peeve

Alice: Why are you coming in holding your nose like that?

Jason: It’s because there are people right outside the entrance of this building just smoking away. They’re not even smoking at the designated smoking area! That’s a really pet peeve of mine.

Alice: Oh! I know what you mean. That’s my pet peeve too.

코를 막고 건물 안으로 들어오자 Alice가 “Why are you coming in holding your nose like that? 그러자 Jason은 “It’s because there are people right outside the entrance of this building just smoking away. They’re not even smoking at the designated smoking area! That’s a really pet peeve of mine. I know what you mean. That’s my pet peeve too.

Now keep today’s expression, ‘pet peeve’ in mind and let’s hear the conversation again.

Today’s expression is pet peeve. A ‘pet peeve’ is a noun. It means something that really annoys or irritates you. A pet peeve will likely drive you crazy. Everyone has a pet peeve. My pet peeve is when a driver doesn’t use his turn signals.

“They’re not even smoking at the designated smoking area! That’s a really pet peeve of mine.”

“My pet peeve is drivers who don’t signal.” Here is another example. “People who leave the lights on are one of my pet peeves.”,
