U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is in Luxembourg for talks with top European Union officials, as she winds down an eight day trip to Europe and the Middle East.
Officials say today's (Thursday's) meetings will focus on transatlantic relations and preparations for President Bush's trip to Europe later this month. Iraq is also expected to be on the agenda.
In talks at NATO headquarters in Brussels Wednesday, Ms. Rice expressed satisfaction in a newfound unity within the alliance after disagreements over the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq.
She said she hoped Europe and the United States could harness their shared values of freedom and democracy to forge a common agenda in the Middle East and help resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
