Exit polls show Ukrainian opposition candidate Viktor Yushchenko with a double-digit lead in today's (Sunday) rerun presidential election.
No official results are available yet. The exits polls were released as voting ended.
A poll conducted by two social science institutes (Razumkov Center of Political Studies and Kiev International Institute of Sociology) shows Mr. Yushchenko, the challenger, leading Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych by 15 points -- 56 to 41 percent.
An exit poll conducted by a television channel reported similar results, while another survey funded in part by the government showed Mr. Yushchenko with an even wider lead of nearly 20 percent.
Sunday's vote was ordered by the Ukrainian high court after it found widespread fraud in November's run-off election. The prime minister had claimed victory in that earlier vote.
