중국에서 19살 여성이 조류독감으로 사망했다고, 보건당국이 밝혔습니다. 중국에서 조류독감 사망자가 발생한 것은 1년 만에 처음입니다.
보건 관계자에 따르면 이 여성은 지난달 24일부터 증세를 호소하다가 사망했으며, 치명적인 H5N1 조류독감 바이러스에 감염된 것으로 확인됐습니다.
관계자들에 따르면 이 여성은 증세를 보이기 전에 조류와 접촉했었습니다. 중국 관영 '신화통신'은 이 여성이 베이징 인근 허베이 성의 한 시장에서 오리 5마리를 구입했었다고 보도했습니다.
중국에서는 지난해 2월 광둥성에서 44살 여성이 조류독감으로 사망한 후 처음으로 조류독감 사망자가 발생했습니다.
한편 베트남 보건당국도 6일 8살 어린이가 조류독감에 감염된 것으로 확인했다고 밝혔습니다.

Health officials in China say a deadly strain of the bird flu virus has killed a 19-year old woman, the country's first reported death from the disease in nearly a year.
Officials say the woman (, Huang Yanqing,) died at a hospital in the Chinese capital after falling ill December 24th. Officials say she had the deadly H5N1 strain of the disease.
They say the woman had contact with poultry before the symptoms appeared. The official Xinhua news agency says the woman bought nine ducks at a market in Beijing's neighboring Hebei province.
The case is the first in China since a 44-year-old woman died last February in southern Guangdong province.
Also today, health officials in Vietnam say an eight-year-old girl in the northern part of the country tested positive for the disease.
