중국 상무부는 21일 짤막한 성명을 통해 중국은 WTO의 규정을 존중하며 무역 보호주의에 반대한다고 밝혔습니다. 중국은 WTO 규정에 위반되는 조치들을 운용하고 있는 것으로 보인다는 미국측 불평을 해소하기 위해 WTO와 공동 노력하기로 동의했습니다.
미국은 지난 19일 중국이 자국 수출상품에 보조금을 지급하는 방식의 프로그램을 중단시키기 위해 중국 정부를 WTO에 제소했습니다.
WTO는 미국과 중국이 앞으로 60일 안에 이 문제를 해결하지 못할 경우 이 분쟁에 관한 판결을 내리게 됩니다.

In a brief statement today (Sunday), China's Commerce Ministry said Beijing respects the rules of the WTO and rejects trade protectionism. It agreed to work with the world body to address a U.S. complaint that China appears to be using measures that violate WTO rules.
The United States filed its complaint Friday, in an attempt to halt Chinese export subsidy programs.
U.S. Trade Representative Susan Schwab and U.S. Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez said the policies promote Chinese-branded products at the expense of American workers and businesses.
The World Trade Organization will rule on the dispute unless the United States and China come to a resolution within the next 60 days.
