이라크의 잘랄 탈라바니 대통령은, 11일 키르쿠크 지역 근처의 식당에서 발생한 폭탄 테러를 비난했습니다.
이번 폭탄 테러는 최근 몇 달 사이 이라크에서 발생한 테러 공격중 가장 많은 적어도 55명의 사망자를 냈습니다.
폭탄은 키르쿠크 지역에서 북쪽으로 10킬로미터쯤 떨어진 압둘라라는 식당에서 터졌습니다. 키르쿠크 지역 경찰 서장은 미국의 소리방송에 부상자만도 100명이 넘는다고 밝혔습니다.
경찰은 이슬람 명절인 '이드 알 아드하'의 마지막 날을 축하하기 위해 나온 인파가 몰려 식당이 예전보다 훨씬 복잡했다고 말했습니다. 폭발 당시 식당 안에는 정부 관리들도 상당수 있었던 것으로 알려지고 있습니다. 키르쿠크 경찰서장은 사망자 중 잘랄 탈라바이 이라크 대통령이 속한 쿠드르 애국동맹 인사가 포함돼 있다고 말했습니다.

Iraq's president has condemned today's(Thursday's) bombing of a crowded restaurant near Kirkuk that killed at least 55 people.
Jalal Talabani spoke shortly after the blast, one of the most lethal in months, while in the northern city on a previously scheduled visit.
The bomb went off at the "Abdullah" restaurant some 10 kilometers north of Kirkuk. The chief of Kirkuk district police (Sarhad Qadir) tells VOA (Kurdish Service) more than 100 other people were injured.
Police say the restaurant was busier than usual on the final day of the Eid al-Adha religious holiday, with many people gathering to celebrate. Reports from the scene say many government officials were also inside.
The police chief says a member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan was among those killed and that members of the city council were among the injured.
