미군의 이라크 주둔을 연장한 미국과 이라크의 안보협정이 일부 강력한 반대에도 불구하고 이라크 의회에서 승인될 것으로 보인다고 이라크 외무장관이 말했습니다.
호쉬야르 제바리 이라크 외무장관은 미군의 이라크 주둔을 오는 2011년까지 3년 더 연장하는 내용의 안보협정에 대한 두 번째 의회 독회가 오늘 이뤄진 가운데 이같이 말했습니다.
어제 이라크 의회는 과격 시아파 지도자 모크타다 알 사드르를 추종하는 의원들의 안보협정 반대 움직임으로 회의를 서둘러 끝냈습니다.
현재 이라크 의회는 누리 알 말리키 총리의 집권 연립 여당이 장악하고 있어 안보협정이 의회에서 무난히 통과될 것으로 관측되고 있습니다.

Iraq's foreign minister says a pact extending the presence of U.S. troops in Iraq has a good chance of gaining parliamentary approval, despite some heated opposition.
Hoshyar Zebari spoke as lawmakers today (Thursday) held a second reading of the agreement, which would extend the U.S. troop presence for another three years.
Wednesday's session was cut short after lawmakers loyal to Shi'ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr disrupted the session by shouting down those in favor of the pact. One lawmaker scuffled with guards.
Despite opposition, the agreement is expected to pass because Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's ruling coalition dominates the legislature.
Parliament is expected to vote on the pact on November 24th.
