미국의 바락 오바마 대통령 당선자는 미국은 금융위기에 대처하기 위해서 정치적 입장차를 뒤로 하고 협력해 나가야 한다고 말했습니다.
8일 방송된 라디오 연설에서 오바마 당선자는 자신이 내년 1월 20일 취임하면 새로운 정부는 문제해결을 위해서 즉각적인 행동을 취할 것이라고 밝혔습니다.
지난 7일 당선 후 가진 첫 기자회견에서 오바마 당선자는 현재의 금융위기는 당대의 가장 어려운 경제적 도전이라고 밝히고, 이 위기에 대처해 나갈 것이라고 밝혔습니다. 오바마 당선자는 또 신용위기를 해소하고, 일하는 가정을 도우며 미국의 경제성장을 회복하기 위해서 필요한 조치를 취할 것이라고 밝혔습니다.
한편 오바마 당선자는 오는 10일 권력이양 문제를 논의키 위해 부시 대통령과 만날 예정입니다. 오바마 당선자는 부시 대통령과 의회가 현 경제상황이 심각함을 알고 있고 이를 개선하길 원한다는 것을 믿는다면서 자신은 당파를 초월한 마음가짐으로 백악관으로 들어갈 것이라고 밝혔습니다.
또한 오바마 당선자는 빠른 시일 내에 경제진작책이 마련되길 원한다고 말했습니다.
오바마 당선자는 이란의 마흐무드 아마디네자드 대통령이 보낸 당선축하 메시지를 검토하고 이에 적절하게 응답할 것이라고 말했습니다. 오바마 당선자는 또 이란의 핵무기 개발은 용납할 수 없고, 테러 조직에 대한 이란의 지원은 중단돼야 한다고 지적했습니다.

U.S. President-elect Barack Obama says Americans must put political differences aside and swiftly work together to solve the economic crisis.
In a radio address today (Saturday), Mr. Obama said he wanted to ensure that his administration "hits the ground running" (gets to work immediately) when he is inaugurated on January 20th.
On Friday, in his first news conference since winning the election, Mr. Obama said that immediately after taking office he will confront the "greatest economic challenge of our lifetime." He said he will take the necessary steps to ease the credit crisis, help working families and restore growth.
On Monday, Mr. Obama will meet with President George Bush to discuss the transfer of power. He said he believes Mr. Bush and members of Congress recognize the severity of the economic situation and want to get things done, and that he will go to the White House with a "spirit of bipartisanship."
The president-elect said he wants to see an economic stimulus package passed as soon as possible.
