이란 당국은 파키스탄을 통해 자국에서 인도로 가스를 옮기는 수송관 개발에 이란 정부가 매진할 것을 1일 촉구했습니다.
이란 관영 언론에 따르면 골람후세인 노자리 이란 석유부 장관은 인도가 이번 사업에 보다 적극적으로 임해야 한다며 인도 측의 지연으로 여러 기회를 잃게 됐다고 말했습니다.
노자리 장관은 이 날 이란 수도 테헤란에서 프라납 무크헤르지 인도 외무장관과 만난 뒤 이같이 밝혔습니다.
이번 사업은 인도가 오랜 경쟁국인 파키스탄을 통한 가스 수송관의 안전을 염려하면서 지연됐습니다. 미국 역시 이란의 핵 개발 논란으로 이란의 고립을 주장하고 있어 70억 달러 규모의 이번 사업을 반대하고 있습니다.

Gholamhossein Nozarias saying India should be more actively engaged in the project, and that India's procrastination has led to many lost opportunities.
Nozari reportedly made the comments after meeting with India's Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee in Iran's capital, Tehran, on Saturday.
Progress on the project has been delayed due to India's fears about the gas pipeline's security during its route through long-time rival Pakistan. The seven-billion dollar project is also opposed by the United States, which wants to isolate Iran because of its disputed nuclear program.
Mukherjee said on Saturday that his country is committed to the project. Nozari also said India was willing to hold trilateral talks with Iran and Pakistan on the matter.
