The United States says senior U.S. and North Korean diplomats involved in nuclear talks will meet next week in New York.
The U.S. State Department said Friday that Ambassador Sung Kim will meet with North Korean diplomats, who are traveling to New York on the invitation of a non-governmental organization for a conference.
A department spokesperson (Sean McCormack) said North Korea's delegation will be led by the deputy (Ri Gun) to Pyongyang's top negotiator (Kim Gye Gwan) for talks aimed at ending the North's nuclear program.
No further details of the meeting have been released.
The top U.S. envoy for the six-nation nuclear talks, Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Hill, traveled to Pyongyang in an effort to revive the foundering process.
After the visit, the U.S. government removed North Korea from a terrorism black list and Pyongyang halted steps to restart its main nuclear reactor.
