수단에서 납치된 중국인 정유업체 직원중 4명이 살해된 사실이 알려지자 중국 정부가 이를 강하게 비난하고 나섰습니다. 중국 외교부 대변인은 28일 성명을 발표하고 이번 사건을 테러행위로 규정지었습니다.
이들 희생자들은 지난 19일 다른 5명의 중국인 직원들과 함께 수단 중부의 원유시추 지역에서 납치됐습니다. 앞서 5명으로 전해졌던 사망자수는 이어 4명으로 조정됐습니다. 중국 당국은 다른 4명의 인질은 석방됐고 나머지 1명은 실종됐다고 밝혔습니다. 중국 당국은 이번 사건에도 불구하고 수단과의 친선 관계를 계속 유지할 것이라고 밝혔습니다.
수단 정부는 납치범들이 인질을 살해할 만한 어떤 자극도 가하지 않았다고 밝히고, 다르푸르 지역에서 활동하는 반군단체 '정의와 평등 운동'을 이번 사건의 주범으로 지목했습니다. '정의와 평등 운동'은 그러나 중국인 납치와 어떤 관계도 없다고 부인했습니다.

China has condemned the killings of four Chinese oil workers kidnapped more
than a week ago in Sudan.
A spokeswoman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry today (Tuesday) denounced
the killings as a terrorist act.
The victims were among nine Chinese oil employees seized October 19th in the
oil-producing Sudanese state of South Kordofan.
Earlier reports said five workers were killed but the foreign ministry revised
the number to four. Chinese officials say four other workers were rescued and
one remains missing.
Despite the killings, China says it will continue its friendly relations with
Khartoum.
The Sudanese government says it did nothing to provoke the kidnappers into
killing the hostages. It blames the abductions and killings on the Justice and
Equality Movement -- a rebel group operating in the country's troubled Darfur
region. The group denies involvement.
