북한과 한국은 27일 오전 10시 남북 관리구역 서해지구 내에서 중령급 군사 실무책임자 접촉을 하기로 합의했습니다.
한국의 국방부는 이번 접촉에서 군 통신 정상화 문제를 비롯한 쌍방 사이에 제기되는 현안이 협의될 예정이라고 밝혔습니다.
북한은 24일 한국에 보낸 전화통지문에서 군 통신망 현대화 문제 등을 협의하기 위한 실무자 접촉을 27일 갖자고 제의했으며, 한국 측이 이에 동의했습니다.
한국의 연합뉴스는 현재 북한과 한국 간에 모두 9회선의 군 통신망이 운용되고 있지만, 이중 서해지구 통신망은 지난 5월부터 통화 상태가 불량해 가동하지 않고 있다고 보도했습니다.
이달 2일에도 남북 군사 실무회담이 열린 바 있습니다.

North and South Korea have agreed to hold military talks to discuss
unsettled issues, including improving military hotlines between the two
nations.
South Korea's Defense Ministry said in a statement today (Saturday)the
talks will be held Monday morning on the west coast near the border city of
Paju.
The North proposed Friday that officer-level talks be held about improving
telecommunications lines between the two sides.
South Korea's Yonhap news agency says the two countries have nine military
hotlines, but one is currently out of service because of technical problems.
The meeting will be the second this month. All other contacts between the two
Koreas have been essentially frozen for most of the year.
