중국 베이징에 모인 아시아와 유럽 정상들이 세계적인 금융위기의 영향을 차단할 과감한 조치들을 취하기 위해 단결할 것을 다짐했습니다.
40개 이상의 아시아-유럽국가들에서 모인 정상들은 오늘 베이징 인민대회당에 베이징 인민대회당에서 이틀동안 기후변화, 개발과 경제협력 등을 논의합니다.
정상들은 이번 회의와는 별도로 금융위기에 대처하기 위한 구체적인 조치들을 논의했습니다. 동남아시아 국가연합의 10개 회원국들은 8백억 달러의 긴급 구제기금을 설립하기로 합의했다고 오늘 발표했습니다. 한국과 일본, 중국도 이 기금에 80%를 제공하기로 합의했습니다.

and European leaders meeting in Beijing are vowing to unite in taking bold action
to stem the effects of the global financial meltdown.
Heads of more than 40 European and Asian countries met at the Great Hall of the
People today (Friday)for the first day of a two-day summit dominated by
the economic crisis.
Chinese President Hu Jintao urged his fellow leaders to respond quickly to the
turmoil. He said the crisis is severely challenging global economic
development, including China's growth.
French President Nicolas Sarkozy, who holds the rotating presidency of the
European Union, called for Asia to support Europe's effort to present (what
he called) a united front at next month's crisis summit scheduled in
Washington.
