아시프 알리 자르다리 파키스탄 대통령이 15일 중국의 수도 베이징에서 후진타오 중국 국가주석과 만나 양국간 경제협력 방안을 논의했습니다.
후 주석은 인민대회당에서 자르다리 대통령을 위한 환영회를 개최한 뒤 곧바로 정상회담에 들어갔습니다. 두 정상은 이 회담을 통해 양국간 주요 협력안에 서명할 계획인 것으로 전해졌습니다. 14일 중국에 도착한 자르다리 대통령은 나흘간의 방문 일정 동안 중국과 핵에너지 협력 방안에 초점을 맞출 계획입니다.
중국 외교부의 친강 대변인은 14일 양국간에 중요한 핵에너지 개발 협력이 이루어지고 있다며 앞으로도 협력관계가 유지될 것이라고 밝혔습니다. 그러나 친 대변인은 후진타오 국가주석과 원자바오 총리가 자르다리 대통령과 핵 관련 협정을 체결할지 여부에 대해서는 언급하지 않았습니다.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Chinese President Hu Jintao met in Beijing today
(Wednesday)in an effort to boost economic ties between the two nations.
Mr. Hu welcomed his Pakistani counterpart in a ceremony at the capital's Great
Hall of the People before the leaders went into private meetings.
The presidents are expected to oversee the signing of several agreements today.
Mr. Zardari arrived in the Chinese capital on Tuesday for a four-day visit that
is also expected to focus on nuclear energy cooperation.
A Chinese foreign ministry spokesman (Qin Gang) said Tuesday the two
countries share sound cooperation in the field of nuclear energy.
He added that China is ready to continue such cooperation with Pakistan. But he
did not confirm that Mr. Hu and Premier Wen Jiabao will discuss a possible
nuclear power deal with Mr. Zardari.
