아마드 파야즈바크시 이란원자력기구 대표는 14일 이란 바셰르 발전소가 내년초 쯤 가동될 것이라고 밝혔습니다.
파야즈바크시 대표는 매년 1천 메가와트의 발전능력을 갖춘 바셰르 발전소가 러시아에서 교육받은 7백명의 이란 기술자들을 채용했다고 전했습니다.
러시아 정부는 이란의 발전소 건립을 지원하고 핵연료를 제공했습니다.
서방 국가들은 이란이 핵계획을 핵무기 개발에 전용하고 있다고 비난해 왔습니다.

Tehran says its Russian-trained engineers are ready to begin operating Iran's
first nuclear power plant.
A top official at Iran's nuclear agency, Ahmad Fayyazbakhsh, said today (Tuesday)
the Bushehr plant will begin working later in the current Iranian calendar
year, which ends in March.
Fayyazbakhsh says 700 Iranian engineers trained in Russia will be employed at
Bushehr, which is capable of producing about 1,000 megawatts of electricity a
year.
Russia helped build the plant and has provided Iran with nuclear fuel.
Western nations have accused Tehran of using its nuclear program to develop
atomic weapons.
Iran says its nuclear program is solely for peaceful purposes. State television
said today an electricity shortage has led to power outages of up to two hours
a day.
