예멘 정부가 이스라엘과 연계된 일단의 이슬람 과격분자들을 체포했다고 알리 압둘라 살레 예멘 대통령이 6일 발표했습니다.
살레 대통령은 이번 체포에 대한 구체적인 내용이나 체포된 단체와 이스라엘과의 관계에 대해서는 밝히지 않았습니다.
이에 대해 이스라엘의 외무부 대변인은 예멘의 주장이 "완전히 터무니 없고 받아들이기 힘들다"고 말했다고 프랑스 뉴스 통신사가 인용 보도했습니다.
예멘은 지난 달 예멘 주재 미국 대사관에 대한 공격과 관련된 이슬람 과격 무장단체 용의자들을 여러명 체포해왔습니다.

Yemen's president has announced the arrest of a group of
Islamic militants he says has ties to Israel.
Ali Abdullah Saleh gave few details about the arrests, or what the links with
Israel could be.
The French News Agency quotes a spokesman for Israel's Foreign Ministry (Igal
Palmor)as saying the claim is "totally ridiculous" and
"really far-fetched."
Yemen has been arresting numerous suspected Islamic militants in connection
with last month's attack on the U.S. embassy in Yemen. It is not clear if Mr.
Saleh was referring to any of those people.
Both the U.S. and Israel for years have tried to counter Islamic extremism.
