7일 아프가니스탄 서부 칸다하르 지방의 경찰서 본부에 대한 폭탄 테러가 발생했습니다.
아프간 당국은 이 날 경찰서 건물 안에서 자살 폭탄 장착자 두 명이 자폭해 경찰관 등 최소 6명이 사망했다고 밝혔습니다. 당국은 부상한 경찰 소장이 이번 테러의 목표였을 수 있다고 밝혔습니다.
경찰은 테러 직후 아프간 병력이 경찰서 주위를 즉각 포위했다고 밝혔습니다.
한편, 이 날 미국과 아프가니스탄 당국은 또 다른 사고로 무장병력 최소
20명이 사망했다고 밝혔습니다.
당국은 미군 주도 연합군의 작전으로 동부 고스트 지방에서 최소 10명의 무장병력이 사망하고, 남부 헬만드 지역에서도 10명이 숨졌다고 밝혔습니다.
아프간 경찰은 또 다른 자살 폭탄 테러는 실패해 사상자가 없었다고 밝혔습니다.
올들어 탈레반이 자살폭탄테러와 노상 폭탄 등을 늘리면서 아프가니스탄 내 폭력사태가 늘고 있습니다.

Afghan officials say two suicide bombers have attacked
police headquarters in the southern city of Kandahar, killing at least six
people, including some police officers.
Officials say the two bombers blew themselves up inside the police building
today (Sunday). They say a police commander (Abdul Raziq) was
wounded and may have been a target.
Police say Afghan forces immediately surrounded the compound following the
blasts.
Also today, U.S. and Afghan officials say at least 20 militants died in two,
separate incidents.
Officials say U.S.-led forces in the eastern province of Khost killed at least
10 militants, while another 10 died in southern Helmand province during an
assault on a police post.
Afghan police say another attack -- on a NATO convoy in the western province of
Herat -- failed, after a suicide bomber exploded himself but failed to injure
anyone.
