앙골라에서 16년 만에 처음으로 실시된 의회 총선 투표 1차 집계 결과에서는 집권당이 압도적인 승리를 거둔 것으로 나타났습니다.
절반 이상의 개표가 진행된 가운데 집권 MPLA는 82% 가량의 지지를 받은 반면에 앙골라의 제 1 야당인 유니타 (UNITA)는 10%가 약간 넘은 득표율을 보이고 있습니다.
유니타의 이스아이아스 사마쿠바 당수는 7일 최종 투표 결과가 앙골라 국민의 의지를 반영한 것이 아닐 수도 있다고 말했습니다. 사마쿠바 당수는 유니타가 투표과정에서 발생한 수많은 문제들과 관련해 선거 위원회에 항의를 제기할 것이라고 덧붙였습니다.
지난 5일 실시된 선거에서 수많은 투표소들이 제 시간에 열리지 않았으며 어떤 투표소들에서는 투표 용지가 바닥나는 사태도 벌어져 투표가 6일까지 연장되기도 했습니다.

Preliminary results from Angola's
first parliamentary elections in 16 years show the ruling party with an
overwhelming victory.
With more than half of the ballots counted, the ruling MPLA has about 82
percent of the vote. Angola's main opposition party, UNITA, has slightly more
than 10 percent.
UNITA leader Isaias Samakuva said today (Sunday) the final results may
not reflect the will of the Angolan people. He said his party has filed a
protest to the Electoral Committee over what he said were numerous flaws.
Many polling stations failed to open on time Friday and others ran out of
ballots. Voting was extended into Saturday.
Election monitors noted flaws in the voting process, but expressed overall satisfaction
because there was little or no violence or intimidation.
