압둘라 국왕은 이날 누리 알말리키 이라크 총리와 짧은 만남을 가졌습니다. 이라크 정부는 성명을 통해 두 정상이 '솔직하고 긍정적인' 대화를 나눴으며, 이라크의 안보 진전에 관해 의견을 교환했다고 밝혔습니다.
그동안 미국은 수니파가 통치하는 아랍국가들이 이라크의 시아파 정부와 고위급 외교관계를 수립할 것을 촉구해 왔습니다.
한편 이라크 중부 디얄라 주에서는 11일 두 건의 폭탄 테러로 최소한 5명이 숨졌습니다.

Jordan's King Abdullah has met with Iraqi officials in Baghdad, as the first Arab head of state to visit the country since the 2003 U.S.-led invasion.
An Iraqi government statement says the king held "frank and positive" talks on bilateral relations during his brief meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki today (Monday). It says the two discussed the progress Iraq has made in security.
The United States has been urging Sunni-ruled Arab states to establish high-level diplomatic relations with the Shi'ite-led government in Baghdad. King Abdullah had been expected to visit Iraq last month but delayed his trip for unspecified reasons.
In violence today, Iraqi officials say two separate bombings killed at least five people in the central province of Diyala.
