부시 대통령은 오늘 베이징의 미국 대사관에서 열린 헌정식에서 행한 연설을 통해 표현의 자유를 보장하는 국가들이 더욱 번영과 평화를 누린다고 지적했습니다.
부시 대통령은 또한 미국의 수도 워싱턴 DC에 신축된 중국대사관이 지난주 문을 열었다고 소개한 뒤, 새 중국 대사관 건물이 미국과 중국의 확고한 우호관계를 반영한다고 말했습니다.
이 자리에 참석한 다이빙궈 중국 국무위원은 중국과 미국이 양국의 차이점과 민감한 사안에 대해 적절히 대처해 나갈 것을 촉구했습니다.

U.S. President George Bush has made another appeal for freedom of expression in China, hours ahead of the start of the Beijing Olympic Games.
Mr. Bush spoke today (Friday) during a dedication ceremony for a new
U.S. embassy complex in the Chinese capital. He said societies that allow the
free expression of ideas tend to be the most prosperous and the most peaceful.
The U.S. president also said the new embassy reflects the solid foundations of
U.S.-China relations. He noted that China opened a new embassy in Washington
last week.
Chinese State Councilor (and Deputy Foreign Minister)Dai Bingguo
participated in the Beijing ceremony. He called for China and the United States
to properly manage their differences on sensitive issues.
Dai also recalled the role former U.S. President George H.W. Bush played in
normalizing relations nearly 30 years ago.
