미국 플로리다 주 마이에미에 있는 미 국립 허리케인 센터는 미국 현지시간으로 23일 오후 3시에 시속 120 킬로미터의 강풍을 동반한 허리케인 돌리가 멕시코 국경과 인접한 텍사스 주에서 가까운 멕시코 만에 위치하고 있으며 시속 11킬로미터의 속력으로 북서쪽으로 이동하고 있다고 발표했습니다.

Hurricane Dolly has made landfall
at South Padre Island in the southern U.S. state of Texas.
The storm is lashing southern Texas and Mexico with heavy rains and strong
winds. Thousands of people have been forced into shelters on both sides of the
border.
The storm strengthened into a Category Two hurricane today (Wednesday) before
making landfall, but then weakened to a Category One storm (on a scale of
one to five intensity).
Texas Governor Rick Perry has declared disaster areas in 14 counties in Texas
in anticipation of the storm's impact. He also mobilized National Guard troops
and established emergency centers.
At 1900 universal time, the National Hurricane Center in Miami said the storm
was moving northwest at about 11 kilometers per hour with sustained wind gusts
of about 120 kilometers per hour.
Forecasters warn Dolly could bring as much as 38 centimeters of rain as it
moves slowly inland, threatening levees and causing serious flooding.
Hurricane warnings are posted for the Texas coast from Brownsville to Corpus
Christi and for the northeast coast of Mexico from Rio San Fernando north to the
U.S. border.
