이라크의 누리 알-말리키 총리는 앞서 19일 독일 주간지 스피겔 신문과의 회견에서 오바마 의원의 안을 지지한다고 밝혔습니다.
그러나 이라크 정부의 알리 알-다바그 대변인은 20일 말리키 총리의 견해는 오해며 잘못 해석된 것이라고 말했습니다.

The top U.S. military official says setting a fixed timetable for the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq could create instability and jeopardize political and economic progress in the country.
In a U.S. television interview today (with "Fox News Sunday") Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman, Admiral Mike Mullen, said the consequences of rapidly withdrawing U.S. combat troops could be very dangerous. He said he favors an assessment of conditions on the ground as the best way to determine troop levels.
The presumptive U.S. Democratic party presidential candidate, Barack Obama, has suggested a plan to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq within 16 months, if he is elected president.
Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki was quoted in a German news weekly (Der Spiegel) Saturday as saying he supports that plan.
But Iraqi government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh today (Sunday) said Mr. Maliki's views were "misunderstood and mistranslated." He said they do not indicate support for any U.S. presidential candidate.
