당국자들에 따르면 신원이 밝혀지지 않은 무장요원이 6일 모가디슈의 사원을 떠나던 오스만 알리 아흐메드를 살해했습니다. 아흐메드는 소말리아의 유엔개발계획, UNDP 책임자입니다.
아흐메드의 형과 아들 역시 부상했습니다. 이번 테러 소행자는 밝혀지지 않았습니다.
소말리아의 유엔 원조 책임자인 마크 보으덴 씨는 아흐메드의 사망이 소말리아에서 널리 퍼진 폭력 사태의 일환인지는 분명하지 않다고 밝혔습니다. 인도주의 단체 구호요원과 당국자들에 대한 공격은 소말리아에서는 흔한 일입니다. 소말리아에서는 이슬람 극단 무장요원들과 에티오피아가 지지하는 임시정부 간 교전 중입니다.

The United Nations is condemning the killing of one of its top officials in Somalia.
Officials say unidentified gunmen shot and killed Osman Ali Ahmed as he was leaving a mosque in Mogadishu on Sunday. Ahmed was head of the U.N. Development Program for Somalia.
Ahmed's brother and son also were wounded in the attack. No one has claimed responsibility.
The U.N. aid chief for Somalia, Mark Bowden, says it is unclear whether Ahmed's killing is part of a wider pattern of violence. Attacks against humanitarian workers and other officials are common in Somalia, where Islamist insurgents are fighting the Ethiopian-backed interim government.
Bowden said Sunday's killing was, in his words, particularly outrageous and worrying at a time when the need for assistance is rapidly increasing.
