공화국의 타보 움베키 대통령이 짐바브웨 지도층에 오는 27일로 예정된 대통령 선거
결선투표를 취소할 것을 촉구했다고 남아공화국 언론이 보도했습니다.

짐바브웨를 방문한 움베키 대통령은 로버트 무가베 대통령과 모건 창기라이 야당 당수를 각각 만났습니다.
움베키
대통령은 두 후보들에게 국가화합을 위한 정부 구성을 설득했다고 남아프리카 공화국의 비지네스 데이와 스타 신문이 보도했습니다.
움베키 대통령은 그동안 서로 한번도 만나지 않았던 두 후보간의 회담도 주선하기 위해 노력한 것으로 알려졌습니다.

South African media say President Thabo Mbeki has urged Zimbabwean leaders
to cancel the June 27th presidential run-off election.
Mr. Mbeki visited Zimbabwe on Wednesday, holding separate meetings with
President Robert Mugabe and his rival, opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai.
Two South African newspapers -- "Business Day" and "The
Star" -- which did not identify their sources, say Mr. Mbeki tried to
convince the two men to form a government of national unity. They say he also
tried to arrange a first-ever meeting between the candidates.
There was no immediate confirmation from Mr. Mugabe or Mr. Tsvangirai.
Zimbabwe has been plagued by violence leading up to the run-off. The opposition
Movement for Democratic Change says four of its activists were found dead today
(Thursday) near Harare.
U.S Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is scheduled to discuss Zimbabwe's
political crisis before the U.N. Security Council today.
